this song SUCKS, the lyrics SUCKS, and the video SUCKS… to be honest, but I really appreciate their attitude: “You have a pussy! I have a Dick! So what’s the problem? Let’s do it quick!”…

I don’t care whether this is about “Sex sells” nor “There are too much sex”. This type of raw power and something truely offensive is something we (in particular Chinese culture) lack of today. They are singing about sex, so what? Let’s say it out loud, be honest and be real! Why can’t we, adults, say what we want, what we think out loud? why? Is it because we are too ashamed of ourselves? or we are scared of being hurt – not getting what we really want?

To me, this song is about attitude. Say your mind out loud! Everything about this song sucks, but who care? It tells you what it is – Pussy, and sex sells! Do you care about its quality? No, but at least it cathces your attention, and publicity! D’ah! That’s what they want!

p.s. this is a censored video, the complete one is basically a PORN

Freud had a famous question “What does a woman want?” – Freud spent nearly his entire life in searching for the answer but failed to. He did concluded that women want to be men and hence the concept “penis envy”, we, women, want to point out the fact that, we don’t want to be men, and we don’t envy the presence of a dick on our bodies.

So, what does a woman really want? Some say “shoes”. Which is right in a way cos men can never understand our obsession with shoes. Bette Midler once said “Give a girl the correct footwear and she can conquer the world”, and yes, that explain exactly how we feel about shoes. Of course, you can argue about men having the same feelings… come on, who doesn’t feel nice when you are in a pair of comfy shoes? We all do.

10cm on the left and 7m on the right

Feel any difference? It's a pair of 10cm on the left and a pair of 7cm on the right. They are both of the same brand and colour, but feel the difference!

How about high heels? They aren’t comfy, why are we sooo obsessed with high heels? Aren’t being a woman, having mensuration cramps every month, giving birth to a child… etc painful enough? Why are we so obsessed with something that gives us pain? I remembered once read a blog titled “Women and High Heels: a love affair in pairs”, for high heels, it’s a painful love affair, or to be more precise, a “love-hate relationship”; otherwise the term “killer heels” wouldn’t have been invented. The answer is simple – they make us look nice. In order to stand in a pair of heels, one has to arch his/her back, which enhances his/her body shape (an “S” shape), emphasizing our boobs and bums – signs of being reproductively fertile, i.e. SEX.

Yes, it’s all about bringing out the sexiness in us. There aren’t many Audrey Hepburn exists, who could look extremely delicious even in ballerina flats. Even our sex Goddess Marilyn Monroe once said “I don’t know who invented high heels, but all women owe him a lot!”. This shows how important high heels is, they transform us. Even the famous shoe designer Manolo Blahnik said something like You put high heels on and you change”. This change gets more drastic as the height of the heel increases.

Louboutin Lillian 12

Louboutin Lillian 12

I fell in love with this pair of Lillian right at the moment I saw them. I love that fetish feeling and got myself a pair despite of its terrible height – 12cm! Just the thought of it freaks me out, and yes, they are bloody painful. I then got myself a pair of 10… followed by another pair of 85 (8.5cm)… and just when i was moaning about not being able to walk in any Louboutin’s shoes, I saw the Candy Ballerina. They are like the most beautiful flats I have ever seen, studs and lace, combining the masculine and feminine sides together. Just like the type of music bands I like – Gothich Rock bands with female lead singers, women with power, women having the lead roles.

Which, reminds me of POLE DANCING. Despite of the fact that the pole itself is a piece of hard cold metal, who ever woman danced on, or with it, would be transformed into a diva. This is quite contradictory considering a piece of metal tube manages to bring out the sexy and feminine side of every woman, where she remains powerful and in control of her every movements – think of the strength required! This is also why pole dancing is so addictive and fascinating. Oppps… this is not my pole dancing blog…

From the front

From the front

What I am trying to do is to explain, (or should I say, giving myself excuses) why I love this pair of ballerina sooo much. I saw them months ago but couldn’t convince myself of spending that amount of money on a pair of FLATS. I do have the feeling that high heels should cost more cos we have to pay for all the engineering behind those heels and so I had the dilemma of whether I should get the Candy flats or the high heel version. I then gave up (although I did dream about them a few times), until last week. I went to CL’s shop in Central for the preview of the new collection and knew that none were left (unless u can fit into size 36 or smaller), not even in online shops like S_ks, Net-X-Portxx; Nemxxxxx… etc… woo woo woo and got sooo upset. For some strange reasons, I had a sudden urge to visit a particular shop and… saw a pair of 37.5!

I heard this song from Almodovar’s soundtrack collection and fell in love this song immediately. It then became one of my most favourite songs…

it is sooo powerful, soo passionate, and yet, soo depressing.
this song never fails in releasing my bad feelings, my aggression, my regrets… anyway, I learned Spanish partially for this song, so wanting to be able to sing this song properly. Got the lyrics and its translation from this blog: http://gatochy.blogspot.com/2007/01/un-ao-de-amor.html

Luz Casal – Un Año de Amo

Lo nuestro se acabó
y te arrepentirás
de haberle puesto fin
a un año de amor.
Si ahora tu te vas
pronto descubrirás
que los días son eternos
y vacíos sin mí.
Y de noche , y de noche
por no sentirte solo,
recordarás nuestros días felices,
recordarás el sabor de mis besos.
Y entenderás en un sólo momento
que significa un año de amor.
Que significa un año de amor.

Te has parado a pensar
lo que sucederá
todo lo que perdemos
y lo que sufrirás.
Si ahora tu te vas
no recuperarás
los momentos felices
que te hice vivir.
Y de noche , y de noche
por no sentirte solo,
recordarás nuestros días felices,
recordarás el sabor de mis besos.
Y entenderás en un sólo momento
que significa un año de amor.
Y entenderás en un sólo momento
que significa un año de amor.

(Translation)

What we had is over
And you’ll regret
Having put an end
To a year of love.
If you leave now
Soon you’ll discover
That days are endless
And empty without me.
And at night, and at night
So as not to feel alone
You will remember our happy days together,
You will remember the taste of my kisses.
And in an instant you will understand
What a year of love means.
What a year of love means.

Have you stopped to think
What will happen
All that we will lose
And what you will suffer.
If you leave now
You won’t get back
The happy moments
I gave you.
And at night, and at night
So as not to feel alone
You will remember our happy days together,
You will remember the taste of my kisses.
And in an instant you’ll understand
What a year of love means.
What a year of love means.

I have been looping this song for the entire day…. Heard it on RTHK Radio 1 and was soooo desperate that I went through the archives, listened to the lyrics (be frank I’m crap with Mandarin)… finially managed to find the name of this song :-)

Never heard of 雷光夏 though… Apparently she is a DJ in Taiwan… I really love her style :-)

Watched the movie “Twilight” quite sometimes ago and the song “Flightless Bird, American moth” by Iron and Wine kept reminding me of this movie.

It is soo romantic, so lethal, so damaging and so… immortal. Forbidden love is always deadly romantic… spontaneous, passionate, and, dramatic. I’ve always wanted to fall in love, fall deeply in love, and yet, I’m afraid to give in.

I’m such a looser.
